Snow White was a brave, fearless outlaw wanted for crimes against the Evil Queen, Regina. When she was just a child, she accidentally broke a promise that she made to Regina, which ultimately resulted in Regina's true love, Daniel, being killed. While on the run, Snow ran into -and was captured by- Prince James, whom she dubbed "Charming" because it simply "suited him." Over time, they began to fall in love...despite the fact that Charming was supposed to marry King Midas's daughter (Princess Abigail). This caused friction between Charming and his adoptive father, King George. The uniting of Charming and Midas's daughter was arranged in order for King George's kingdom to gain wealth. As an ultimate result of Snow and Charming's unrequited love, Regina and King George banded together to tear the two apart. Queen Regina enacted a sleeping curse on Snow with an enchanted apple. Charming traversed the land in search of her. When he finally found her, her lifeless body being mourned over by the seven dwarfs, he realized that he was far too late. Absolutely devastated, he gave her one final kiss. To his surprise, his kiss....true love's kiss...broke the curse and Snow was awakened. Some time later, Snow and Charming discovered that they were expecting a child. During their wedding, Evil Queen Regina burst in, exclaiming, "Everything that all of you love will be taken from you." Snow feared greatly for Emma, so she and Charming obtained a magic wardrobe that would protect her from the curse. In the process of obtaining this enchanted wardrobe, Rumplestiltskin revealed to them that their daughter alone could break the curse. As promised, Regina then enacted a terrible curse on the land, banishing all of the inhabitants of the Enchanted Forest to "a land where there are no happy endings."
Mary Margaret (Snow White's cursed counterpart) is a kind, yet reserved individual who resides in the town of Storybrooke, Maine. She is a teacher and a regular volunteer at the local hospital. Mary Margaret gives Henry Mills (one of her students and an adopted child) a storybook in hopes that it will instill in him a sense of hope that she feels he is lacking. When Henry's biological mother, Emma Swan (who is, in reality, Snow/Mary Margaret's daughter), shows up in Storybrooke and ends up with no place to stay, Mary Margaret invites her into her own home. One day while volunteering at the hospital, Mary Margaret began reading to a comatose patient (David Nolan and Prince Charming's cursed counterpart) who had been unresponsive for as long as anyone could remember. After a series of events, she ends up saving his life, and the two begin a rocky relationship. David awoke to a wife (Kathryn Nolan and Princess Abigail's cursed counterpart) that he had no memory of, and Mary Margaret, whom he was mysteriously and unexplainably drawn to.
When Two Worlds Collide
After a series of events, the curse is broken and all of the Storybrooke residents realize who they truly are. Snow and Charming reunite, sharing a passionate kiss. They proceed to catching up with Emma and the rest of the townsfolk. This happiness is short lived, for they realize that something is wrong...They are all still in Storybrooke and a mysterious haze is beginning to engulf the town. Some time later, Snow and Emma are whisked away through a magic portal to a different world and separated from Charming and Henry. Now...Snow and Emma are fighting to find a way back. Charming and Henry are fighting just as hard...desperately trying to figure out a solution.
